Mitchell R. Cohen currently serves as managing director of Trilogy Search Partners, a private equity firm that backs search fund entrepreneurs.
Mr. Cohen is formerly a managing director at Hellman & Friedman LLC, a global private equity firm headquartered in San Francisco. He joined Hellman & Friedman as an associate in 1989 and became a general partner in 1992. Mr. Cohen’s primary area of focus was the media and telecommunications industries as well as having primary responsibility for relationships with the firm’s investors. Prior to Hellman & Friedman, he was an associate in the Merchant Banking Department and the Office of the Chairman at Shearson Lehman Hutton Inc., from 1986 to 1989.
Mr. Cohen graduated from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce in 1986. He currently serves on the boards of directors of several for-profit companies, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Marin Community Foundation, Coaching Corps, and the McIntire School of Commerce Foundation, in addition to serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco.
