Meryl B. Witmer is a general partner of Eagle Capital Partners LP, an investment partnership whose investment philosophy encompasses investing in strong businesses with great free cash flow characteristics, at a significant discount to their intrinsic value, with great management teams who intelligently allocate capital. She began her investing career in 1985, working with value investors Michael Price and Max Heine at the Mutual Series Funds. In May of 1989 she co-founded Emerald Partners LP, a value-oriented investment partnership. Ms. Witmer joined Eagle Capital Partners in 2001 upon the retirement of her partner after a successful 11 years managing Emerald Partners. She joined Dean Witter Realty in August of 1983 as a financial analyst.
Ms. Witmer graduated from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, with a concentration in finance, in 1983. She is a member of the Board of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and has been a member of the Barron’s Roundtable since 1999. She is married to Chuck Witmer (Darden ’83) and has two children.
