John Connaughton

Co-Managing Partner of Bain Capital andGlobal Head of Bain Capital Private Equity

John P. Connaughton is Co-Managing Partner of Bain Capital, and Global Head of Bain Capital Private Equity. Over his career, Mr. Connaughton has worked on a number of the firm’s most important healthcare and technology investments. Prior to joining Bain Capital in 1989, he worked at Bain & Company as a consultant, strategizing with Fortune 500 companies to formulate leading business initiatives.

Along with his wife, Stephanie, Mr. Connaughton is involved in a variety of charitable and philanthropic activities. They recently donated $5 million to establish the Connaughton Alternative Investing Professorship Fund. This was the founding donation to support an experiential academic program about alternative investments. He is a member of the McIntire School of Commerce Foundation Board at the University of Virginia and of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company. Mr. Connaughton also serves as a trustee of the Berklee College of Music and a trustee of the Roxbury Latin School. He is a member of the Harvard Business School Board of Dean’s Advisors and also serves as a trustee for Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Through Bain Capital, Mr. Connaughton serves on Iqvia’s board and is involved in a number of charitable and civic activities through Bain Capital Community Partnership.

Mr. Connaughton is an alumnus of the University of Virginia and received a B.S. in Commerce with Distinction. He went on to receive an M.B.A. with High Distinction from Harvard Business School.
