David B. MacFarlane, CFA, is a managing director of Drake Capital Advisors LLC.
David has spent most of his career identifying, researching and investing in a wide variety of hedge fund strategies and constructing portfolios of such funds for institutional clients. In 2001, he founded Drake Capital Advisors LLC to manage portfolios of hedge funds for a focused group of endowment, foundation, pension and family office clients. Prior to that, he was president and managing director of Kemnay Services USA Inc., where he was responsible for managing a large global portfolio of hedge funds for a European family office.
David has served on the boards of various offshore hedge funds and has been actively involved in board service and investment committee work for numerous nonprofit institutions. He is a member of the Board of Trustees and Investment Committee of Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut.
He graduated with a B.S. in commerce from the University of Virginia in 1984 and received his M.B.A. degree with distinction from Harvard Business School. David received the CFA charterholder designation in 1990. He is married with three children and lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.
